There are two other optional mission that needs teaming up and the way it works is a player will put somekind of notification of who wanna join and people will sign up asap. And these missions are actually optional. Watch the Xbox showcase in a week for info on that.įor me the multiplayer aspect its really just when you want to do some specific missions called public events that occur every 20 minutes. Then there's Starfield, which is coming out in September. Not really a looter-shooter, but very progression-based and base-building. Those are more on the build-a-thon side than FO4 was, and they're all very different from each other, but the first two are some of the greatest games of all time. But choosing what weapons and abilities you want to upgrade throughout the game and doing it efficiently is what makes those games fun.Īs far as other games that give a massive sense of progression and adventure - Subnautica, Terraria, 7 Days to Die are some of my favorites. If you liked one Bethesda game, you'll probably like them all.įor linear experiences I always recommend the Bioshock series and the Dead Space series, but those really aren't RPGs as much as action/survival horror. There's also FO3 and New Vegas, and Skyrim as well. The multiplayer aspect is not intrusive at all, it can be played completely solo for at least the first 50 levels. If you're looking for an experience that is as close to FO4 as possible, that'll be FO76. These are my two most played games of all time, with FO4 at 1800 hours and FO76 at 1700. The game that is most similar to FO4 is FO76. However, you did specifically say "dungeon crawling, looter shooter with heavy character customization and developing", so I'm not sure you care that much about the base/settlement building. There are plenty of games in those genres, but not many with a mix of all three. I would say the three things make FO4 what it is are RPG, looter-shooter, and "build-a-thon".
